Accelerating REUSE – Unlocking the PPWR’s Full Potential 10th European REUSE Conference 2025

The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) entered into force on 11 February 2025, marking a milestone in EU circular economy policy. For the first time, it sets binding waste prevention targets for member states and introduces mandatory REUSE requirements for beverage, transport and takeaway packaging. This finally provides the long-awaited political momentum for the REUSE industry.

At the 10^th European REUSE Conference, the participants are invited to discuss how to successfully build and expand reuse systems within the framework of the PPWR – and beyond – at European, national, and local levels. By showcasing successful reuse models in operation, it is aimed to demonstrate what is possible in practice. At the same time, also the risks of misdirected developments through numerous exemptions will be highlighted, particularly for paper packaging, and how Member States can act early to ensure strong support for reuse solutions.
