Shaping Europe's green future - How the path forward can be continued
Since December 1, 2024, the European Commission has been in office under the renewed leadership of Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Following the spectacular focus on the European Green Deal in her first term of office, the focus of the new Commission program has now changed fundamentally. In response to geopolitical and economic challenges, the European Union is shifting more towards competitiveness, technological innovation and cutting bureaucracy in order to compete with the major global players. Does this mean the end of the ecological transformation and an ambitious European Climate Action policy? Or can the European Green Deal be brought into line and reconciled with the new realities?
These issues will be addressed by the Executive Director of the European Environment Agency, Leena Ylä Mononen, and other honourable speakers at an event organized by the Federal Austrian Ministry for Climate Action (BMK).
