Workshop on mitigating the impact of underwater noise on marine biodiversity with specific focus on seismic surveys in the southeastern European part of the Mediterranean
Underwater noise caused by human activities, including seismic surveys, poses a serious threat to marine life. To discuss the potential negative impacts on the marine ecosystem and coastal communities, as well as mitigation measures and alternatives, the international marine conservation organization OceanCare in cooperation with NRDC and sponsored by the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU) are hosting a workshop to address the situation in south-eastern European waters in the Mediterranean Sea.
The workshop will be held in English.
The number of participants will need to be restricted.
Preference will be given to participants from the following countries: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Malta, Montenegro and Slovenia.
